Short Shucking a Phantom?

I have been playing with a phantom for about 4 years now, but lately I have been chopping balls in the breech fairly frequently. (1 in 100 or so)

The paint is small bore, so I shouldn't think its a feed problem, but its not truly a short shuck either. Its like on the return stroke it just crushes that sucker in the breech and from there on its shooting cabbage if I can get the bolt to even move. Its REALLY frustrating.

Any thoughts? I know its not much to go on, but I needed to vent anyway.
