: The nickel barrels are louder, huh? I'm much more into efficiency and quiet than playing with a hand cannon.

No. Just that a 14" is quieter than the 11". I haven't run into too many occasions where I wanted the middle ground barrel. Really, though, the Phantom's pretty quiet regardless of barrel

: : Out of curiosity, does this guy who wants you to buy a Boomy shoot a Cocker, wear this year's Dye/JT jersey and carry a 4 pack? Automatically buying a $100+ barrel for a new gun smells like rich tourney player that doesn't really know their tech to me.

: Oh, man! You just described him to a "T"! (Actually, come to think of it, you just described his taste in cars and sound systems, too.) I think his biggest fault is simply that he listens to all the other guys at the field and finds out through that and APG what's the hottest new item or upgrade.

Wisdom is inversely proportion to the volume at which it is proclaimed. That and I live in a tourney paintball town and am the sole 'crazy pump guy.' I get a lot of twibs asking me why I play with atricyclepy pump while they're wearing my paint.

With all due respect to APG and the other paintball rags, have you ever read a bad product review in one?

: By the way, where do you find doohickies? I was actually entertaining the idea of getting one of those clear pumps, to jazz things up, but didn't really know where to look. Last I checked, they didn't show up on phantomonline.com.

I think Mike has started making them on a regular basis, or at least did another run. If you want them, ask. I particularly like the clear SC tube so you can see how many balls are left. If you get them, also look into the Dye clear panel grips. Much closer match (actually clear, not cloudy whitish) than the stickies. I also found the stickies to be uncomfortable when pumping because of the wrap around front. It's a matter of taste, see what you think.
