IR3 Not Charging

My IR3 just wont seem to take a charge. I followed the manual's instructions to the letter and nothing happens. I plug the charger in, turn the isolator switch to the left ("ON") and plug the cord into the socket on the back of the marker. All the LCD says is, "SAFE" and displays 3 bars on the battery indicator. The 4 bar segment doesn't cascade and it doesn't display "CHARGE". I've tried charging it in different cars ( cars with new batteries) and checked and rechecked the connections.

The only time I can get the LCD display to show "CHARGE" is by turning the the isolator switch to "OFF". With the switch in the "OFF" position, as the manual states, no charging can occur. It flashes "CHARGE" for about a minute and then returns to "POWERON" indicating that it cannot charge. (of course)

I should mention that this is the second IR3 that I've had this happen to. (The exact same thing happened to the first one and Paintballexpress.com shipped me a replacement.) This is absolutely infuriating. It appears "the most advanced paintball marker in the world" needs some quality control.

Just as an FYI, the production numbers etched into the breech were in the 9000s for both markers.
